Welcome to P.C.E.A Nkoroi Church
P.C.E.A Nkoroi is a Christ-centred church. As followers of Christ, we endeavour to grow spiritually and become more like Christ by following His teachings. We are the city on a hill for our community — a lighthouse committed to spiritual growth and to building a strong, caring community in Nkoroi and the surrounding areas of Kajiado County.
We are continually guided by Matthew 22:37-39, where Jesus said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
Nkoroi is a constituent congregation of Eserian Parish of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), located next to Magadi Road in Kajiado County, a short drive from Ongata Rongai town. Whether you are a lifelong Presbyterian, new to the area, or exploring faith for the first time — karibu, you will find a home here.
The Presbyterian Church of East Africa
PCEA traces its roots to 1891, when missionaries of the Free Church of Scotland established the East Africa Scottish Mission — first at Kibwezi, then at Dagoretti and Thogoto (Kikuyu) — planting a church through evangelism, education and medical ministry. In 1897 the mission was entrusted to the Church of Scotland, and in 1956 the Presbyterian Church of East Africa attained full autonomy.
Today PCEA numbers around four million members in over 1,000 congregations and 310 parishes across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, with a growing diaspora — the largest Presbyterian church in Africa. Its headquarters is at Jitegemea House, South C, Nairobi.
- Congregation — the local worshipping family, governed by its Kirk Session (minister and ruling elders).
- Parish — a grouping of congregations under a parish minister; Nkoroi belongs to Eserian Parish.
- Presbytery — the regional court of ministers and representative elders.
- Regional Councils & General Assembly — the supreme court of the church, led by the Moderator.
