The Greatest Commandment

This Sunday’s lectionary: Sunday Oct 4 — Lectionary Year A

Memory Verse

Matthew 22:37

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Scripture for Today

Matthew 22:34-40

Read the full passage in your Bible, then pause to let the Holy Spirit apply it to your heart.

Thought for the Day

The whole law hangs on these two: wholehearted love for God, and practical love for neighbour. Live both today.

Sunday Oct 4 — Lectionary Year A

Read the passages in advance and come ready to hear the Word preached on Sunday.

Morning Prayer

Father in heaven, thank You for the gift of this new day. Take my plans, my words and my thoughts, and make them pleasing to You. Lead me by Your Spirit, protect my family, and use me today to bless someone who needs hope. In Jesus' name, Amen.
